Overview
Valmar Merchant Services, a payment processor founded in 2010, had built a solid reputation for fast and reliable transaction processing — entirely offline. As larger competitors expanded their marketing budgets, Valmar's leadership decided to take the business online. Nupixl was brought on to build the site and the marketing program to support it.
Challenge
Valmar's reputation didn't extend past word of mouth and existing relationships. Larger payment processors were investing heavily in marketing and advertising, and without any online presence, Valmar had no way to compete for customers who researched vendors online before ever making contact.
Approach
Nupixl worked closely with Valmar's management team to design a website that was easy to navigate, visually appealing, and optimized for search from day one. In parallel, we planned a marketing program built to reach potential customers actively searching for payment-processing solutions.
Execution
We built a mobile-responsive site optimized for both search engines and conversion, then launched a coordinated marketing campaign spanning search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, social media, email, and influencer partnerships. As the customer base grew, we layered in a loyalty program offering discounts and exclusive benefits, along with stronger encryption and ongoing monitoring to protect customer data.
Results
Valmar's online business grew steadily from launch, and by 2018 the company had established itself as a recognized provider of online payment-processing services. The loyalty program strengthened retention, and continued investment in security kept pace with the company's growing customer base — turning Valmar from a locally-trusted processor into a competitive online business.
